About the Role
As a Lettings Negotiator at Knight Frank Retail & Leisure Agency, you’ll help move retail and leisure properties from initial enquiries to agreed lettings—supporting landlords and occupiers through the negotiation process in the UK real estate market. You will work closely with the agency’s lettings and client-facing teams, reporting into the relevant property lead and partnering with colleagues across viewings, marketing, and deal progression.
What You'll Do
- You will manage the full lettings negotiation cycle, from enquiry handling and qualifying requirements through to drafting the agreement for signature.
- You will conduct property viewings, explain commercial terms clearly, and follow up with concise recommendations based on the occupier’s needs and the landlord’s priorities.
- You will negotiate key lease and letting terms (for example rent, incentive structures, lease length, repairing obligations, and break options) within agreed parameters.
- You will prepare and maintain accurate, up-to-date records for active cases, including correspondence logs, tenant/landlord updates, and next-step actions.
- You will liaise with internal stakeholders and external parties such as solicitors, surveyors, landlords, and prospective tenants to keep the transaction moving toward completion.
- You will support the compilation of marketing and letting materials by providing factual property details, availability updates, and term summaries.
- You will build and maintain relationships with occupiers and intermediaries to generate repeat opportunities and strengthen referral flow.
What We're Looking For
- 1+ years of experience in lettings, property sales, or client-facing real estate negotiations, demonstrated through your work history.
- Strong knowledge of commercial or residential letting processes, including negotiation of commercial terms and progression to agreement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to summarise complex information into clear, actionable advice.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and attention to detail when maintaining case records and tracking deadlines.
- Professional approach to confidentiality and compliance when handling tenant/landlord information and deal documentation.
Nice to Have
- Experience specifically within retail and/or leisure lettings, or a background in commercial property negotiations.
- Familiarity with local market dynamics across the UK, including awareness of typical lease structures and occupier demand drivers.
- Experience coordinating with solicitors and understanding document workflows through to exchange and completion.
Why Join Us
- Work on lettings deals that require both commercial judgment and strong client service in the retail and leisure sector.
- Gain experience progressing real property transactions end-to-end, from enquiry to agreed terms.
- Join a specialist agency environment where negotiation quality, accuracy, and responsiveness directly shape outcomes.
- Develop your expertise in property negotiation, relationship management, and case management across multiple stakeholders.
